Hamilton, a Canadian emigre, came to Milwaukee in 1917. After working for Matthews Brothers Woodworking for several years he purchased the aviation department from Matthews Brothers. In 1926, he decided to create an all metal airplane, which became known as the Hamilton metalplane. The first model, "Maiden Milaukee," flew in 1927. Hamilton Metalplane became part of Boeing in 1929. In 1932, Boeing closed the Metalplane division, with the operations transferred to Boeing plants in Wichita and Seat...
